The Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities (the Charter) sets out the basic rights, freedoms and responsibilities of all Victorians.

All public authorities in Victoria are obliged to consider human rights when they provide services, develop policies and make laws.

As part of its annual reporting on the operation of the Charter, the Commission undertakes a survey with the cooperation of local government. The results from the most recent survey, dealing with the period 2013-14, are analysed in this report.

The Human Rights Ready Reckoner is a pocket guide designed to help public sector employees make decisions that are compatible with the Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities.

As part of its annual reporting on the operation of the Charter, the Commission undertakes an online survey in cooperation with local government. The results from the 2011 survey are analysed in this report.
