Have your say about taxis and hire cars

The Taxi Services Commission conducts a quarterly customer satisfaction survey to gauge public sentiment towards taxi and hire car services in Victoria.

The survey has recently been expanded from a telephone survey to an online version.

As fewer Victorian households have landline telephones and increasingly people are online, the aim is to ensure a comprehensive cross section of Victorians provide their views.

The survey reports on how satisfied passengers re with the elements of taxi and hire car services – such as availability, reliability and price. It also provides specific results for metropolitan Melbourne as well as regional areas.

This information is used to highlight which areas of the industry that passengers think need improvement. In turn the Taxi Services Commission – the industry regulator – uses this information to target operations and follow up with the taxi companies themselves.
