Out of the closets, into the streets: histories of gay liberation, 15 January - 8 February 2015

The Australian Lesbian and Gay Archives presents a groudbreaking exhibition at City Library as part of Midsumma Festival 2015.

The exhibition Out of the closets, into the streets: histories of gay liberation pictures the very beginning of the gay liberation movement in Australia through the work of Philip Potter, John Storey, John Englart, Barbara Creed, Ponch Hawkes and Rennie Ellis.

The launch event takes place at the City Library Gallery, 253 Flinders Lane, Melbourne on Thurdsay 15 January from 6pm-7.30pm.

The exhibition will run throughout Midsumma 2015, forming part of Melbourne Library Service's festival lineup featuring queer talks, a film screening, a reading circle, collections, a queer history walk and story times for kids.
