Embrace Diversity campaign promotes social harmony

Social inclusion and harmony are the focus of ‘Embrace Diversity’, a social media campaign and website that aims to engage people across Australia.

The campaign promotes cultural diversity as a strength in our community and encourages people to show their support by joining the conversation on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram where they can post, share and like comments and photographs tagged #EmbraceDiversity.

A number of high profile Victorians have joined the campaign, including prominent AFL players Travis Cloke, Ahmed Saad and Jason Ball, as well as incoming Chairperson of the Victorian Multicultural Commission, Helen Kapalos.

Premier Daniel Andrews launched the campaign last week during a media conference at the MCG where he also announced a new partnership between the Victorian Government and the AFL which will shine a spotlight on multiculturalism in round 19 of the 2015 AFL Premiership Season from 7 – 9 August 2015.

The AFL’s ‘Many Cultures, One Game’ Multicultural Round will celebrate and promote cultural diversity in Australia, and feature a special multicultural festival at the Carlton vs. Collingwood game at the MCG on Saturday 8 August 2015.
