Brent Phillips, Chair of the Disability Reference Group from 2016–18, introduces our Disability Action Plan in Auslan.
The Commission has a vision for a fair, safe and inclusive Victoria where every person is respected and treated with dignity.
To achieve our vision, we must make sure that people with disabilities can
- access the Commission’s buildings
- use the Commission’s services
- work with the Commission
- understand the law
- tell the Commission their ideas.
We must also use our role to make things better for all people with disabilities who live in Victoria.
The Disability Action Plan describes how the Commission plans to do this. We developed it with our Disability Reference Group.
The plan is based around five goals, and we have committed to actions in order to achieve these goals.
Goal 1: The Commission will make its services easier for people with disability to access.
Goal 2: The Commission will employ more people with disability
Goal 3: The Commission will help people with disability to understand the law
Goal 4: The Commission will learn from people with disability
Goal 5: The Commission will make sure its plan works
